Welcome to the School of Photography! We make photography easy so you can learn
learn how to use a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera to take your first photo. This is the first lesson for any beginner in photography, and you should be able to pick up any DSLR and start shooting in less than an hour!
The basics of photography begin with getting a proper exposure. What does that mean? In layman terms, an under-exposed photo looks too dark and you don’t see much details in the shadow areas. An over-exposed photo looks too bright and you start losing details in the brightest areas.
The key to the first lesson in photography is to learn how to control the amount of light so that the exposure is just right. Sounds simple doesn’t it? It is!
